Two Ingredient Sensory Recipe
This has been one of my fave recipes and the best part it’s so simple and easy to make.
I remember the afternoon we made it. We had been out all day but I was determined we were going to do this when we got home.
Only problem I didn’t actually have what I needed at home. A quick stop and the servo and our quest for ingredients was achieved. Was this the most economical way absolutely not. We ended up with Pantene conditioner and Nurses cornflour. Yes they worked but so would home brand.
That’s all you need to create the “ice cream” look is cornflour and conditioner. Add half of each that way you can adjust the consistency so it’s scoopable just like the ice cream shop. Add then mix away. Once you are happy with how it looks that’s it just go for it.
At this point I added a few extra goodies, some coloured couscous, eco glitter and anything my daughter could find from the garden. Sprinkles from the supermarket are always a hit and cheap too.
In my mind I thought my 9 year old would create an ice cream shop but she had other ideas and made monster faces instead.

So there are no rules it’s play after all. As long as they are entertained and using their imagination cause that’s the whole point. I love the consistency of this recipe it’s not sticky, smells delicious and it isn’t too runny.
Ingredients: 500 grams Cornflour and 375ml Conditioner (brands may change the consistency of this mix so add bits at a time until there right consistency is achieved
Additional add ons: eco glitter, sprinkles, leaves, flowers, sticks, shells, rocks, bark, feathers, dried flowers
