Ways to use Number Flash Cards
- 🔢 Number recognition – Introduce numbers 1–10 and practise identifying each numeral.
- 🐸 Count and match – Count the objects on the picture card and match it to the corresponding number.
- 🧩 Number matching – Pair the written number with the matching quantity.
- 🔢 Put them in order – Arrange the cards from 1–10, then mix them up and try again.
- 👀 Quick number recognition – Hold up a card and see how quickly your child can identify the number.
- 🧮 Simple addition – Use two cards to create simple addition questions.
- ➖ Early subtraction – Start with a larger number and use objects to take some away.
- 🗣️ Number vocabulary – Say the number, then practise spelling the number word.
- 🎲 Use with loose parts – Add buttons, stones, pom poms, wooden pieces or natural treasures to represent each number.
- 🌿 Take learning outdoors – Use the cards with sticks, leaves, rocks or other treasures collected from nature.
- 🎨 Creative play – Use playdough or loose parts to recreate the number or make the quantity shown.
- 🧠 Memory game – Turn cards face down and find matching numbers and quantities.
- 👧 Independent learning – Leave them out as an invitation for children to explore numbers at their own pace.
Perfect for early maths, counting practice, number recognition and hands-on learning through play.
